Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd. (BIBP) Successfully Joined the Capital Science and Technology Infrastructure Platform

To support the development of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center and continuously improve the efficiency of utilizing scientific and technological resources, BIBP successfully joined the Capital Science and Technology Infrastructure Platform on May 29th, 2026. After its R&D facilities and equipment are opened to the public through the platform for sharing, it will help reduce R&D costs for small and medium-sized research teams and innovative enterprises, promote cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation and technological integration, and contribute to new drug R&D, vaccine development, quality upgrading of biological products, and breakthroughs in key core technologies in the pharmaceutical and health field.

Part 1: Introduction to the Capital Science and Technology Infrastructure Platform

The Capital Science and Technology Infrastructure Platform is a Beijing local science and technology infrastructure platform operating under the guidance of the National Science and Technology Infrastructure Platform. It serves as a key vehicle for implementing the Opinions of the State Council on Opening Major National Research Infrastructure and Large-Scale Scientific Instruments to the Public (Guo Fa [2014] No. 70). Led by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, and jointly promoted by the Municipal Finance Bureau, the Municipal Education Commission, and other relevant commissions and bureaus, the platform involves universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the capital region that own research facilities and instruments. It opens major national research infrastructure and large-scale scientific instruments to the public, providing enterprises with services such as analysis, testing, inspection, and R&D, continuously improving the efficiency of science and technology resource utilization, transforming resource advantages into innovation-driven development advantages, optimizing the ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship, and serving the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center.

Part 2: Overview of Open Scientific and Technological Resources

All 49 research facilities and instruments in the pharmaceutical and health field that BIBP has included in the platform are large-scale precision instruments each valued at over RMB 450,000, with a total original value exceeding RMB 100 million. Based on functional similarity, they are classified into nine categories: microscopic imaging, chromatographic analysis, mass spectrometry analysis, spectral analysis, flow cytometry analysis, biochemical analysis, separation and purification, physical property analysis, and preparation processes. Together, they form a complete technical system covering microscopic observation, component detection, molecular identification, sample preparation, process optimization, and stability evaluation, capable of meeting multi-level needs from basic research and applied research to industrial development. The detailed equipment list is shown in the table below.

Part 3: Innovation Voucher Related Work

The Capital Science and Technology Innovation Voucher supports high-precision industries in the Beijing region, as well as early-stage hard-tech small and micro enterprises and entrepreneurial teams, in meeting their needs for innovation projects with high technological content. Eligible entities can obtain innovation vouchers to purchase professional services such as analysis, testing, and R&D provided by open units based on large-scale scientific instruments.

Based on the research instruments included in the platform, a total of 24 services have been established that can accept the Capital Science and Technology Innovation Voucher. These mainly include transmission electron microscopy testing, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) testing, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) testing, molecular interaction analyzer testing, analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC) testing, protein stability analyzer testing, capillary electrophoresis testing, and others. The service contents, scope, and fields eligible for the innovation voucher are detailed in the table below.

BIBP holds multiple qualifications, including National High-Tech Enterprise, National Enterprise Technology Center, National Key Laboratory, National Technology Innovation Demonstration Enterprise, and Postdoctoral Workstation. The institute places great emphasis on building innovation platforms and has laid out novel technology platforms such as multi-valent combination vaccines, novel delivery systems, mRNA vaccines, and recombinant proteins, while exploring new pathways for vaccine development.
