Communication Fosters Consensus, Learning and Discussion Drive Development

On October 23, 2025, the "2025 International Travel Health Association Yellow Fever Vaccine Seminar," hosted by the International Travel Health Association (ITHA) and co-organized by Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd (BIBP), was successfully held at the BIBP. The event brought together dozens of experts and key personnel from International Travel Health Centers (ITHC) across national customs authorities for in-depth exchanges and collaborative discussions on yellow fever prevention, control, and vaccine supply. Attendees from BIBP included Party Committee Secretary Gao Song, Executive Deputy General Manager Zhang Xuemei, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Discipline Committee Secretary Li Xinguo, Financial Director Zhang Hui, Deputy General Manager Yang Ming, and managers from relevant departments.

During the event, delegates visited the A Centennial Exhibition Hall of China Biological Products and the R&D Center. Through valuable exhibits and advanced research facilities, they gained deep insights into the century-long development of China's biological products industry and the research capabilities of BIBP.

At the seminar, Gao Song expressed high respect to the "frontline guardians" who have long served at China's border checkpoints, and reviewed the company's long-standing, close collaboration with the ITHC System in yellow fever prevention and control. Jia Chonglai, Director of the Yellow Fever Vaccine Workshop, systematically introduced the production process, quality control system, efficacy, and safety of the yellow fever vaccine to attendees, comprehensively showcasing its professional value and quality assurance.

During the discussion session, Fang Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of the ITHA, highly commended the BIBP for its outstanding contributions to public health and epidemic prevention. He stressed the need for continued collaboration to optimize vaccine supply and immunization services, enhance promotion efforts, and effectively protect the health of key populations, such as business travelers and migrant workers bound for endemic areas. He also called for deepening cooperation in other vaccine fields to better meet diverse immunization demands both domestically and internationally. During the meeting, representatives from ITHC in Chengdu, Shanghai, Hebei, Fuzhou, and other regions highlighted the urgent market demand for yellow fever vaccines.

In response to this market feedback, Gao Song stated that the company would spare no effort to accelerate production and ensure market supply. He also pledged to provide more precise market services and academic support in the future. The seminar fostered consensus among stakeholders across industry, academia, research, and application. Participants agreed that future efforts should focus on establishing smoother communication mechanisms, enhancing public awareness of vaccination, expanding immunization coverage, and jointly exploring the development of a smarter and more resilient international travel health security system. The successful hosting of this seminar laid a solid foundation for building a closer and more efficient international travel health collaboration network, demonstrating the collective commitment of all parties to safeguarding national border security and public health.
